Entrepreneur Attributes RBC Employees’ Support To Success

Kevin Halliday has been an RBC client since he was 14. He’s now 35 and a successful entrepreneur, owner of Spindles, Stairs & Railings Ltd. in Calgary. He credits part of his success to his relationships with RBC bankers.

When Kevin worked in Brooks, Brenda Reynolds, now MPFS, Manulife Place, Edmonton, was his personal banker. She took the time to teach him about investments and helped him with his first Visa card. But even as Kevin required business banking services and as Brenda transferred to other positions, he continued his relationship with her. Brenda always found solutions to Kevin’s challenges through referrals and her product knowledge.

“She never says no, even when the bank’s policies do,” Kevin says. “I write my first business plan using the Big Idea disk Brenda gave me,” Kevin says.

Now located in Calgary, Kevin has worked with Cheryl Mitchell, account manager, Business Banking, and now Rick Vandergraaf, account manager, Business Banking. Rick works with Kevin helping him with everything from accounting, to writing and sticking with his business plan.

“When I call Rick, I don’t get voicemail. He always picks up,” Kevin says. “RBC has had an impact on my life. It broke out of the box to help me out and gave me a positive approach to financing, then walked me through building my business. It’s one of the biggest factors in my business success.”
